The enigma of the real

Galleria Corsini from 10/23/2019 to 02/02/2020 23 October 2019 - 02 February 2020 The National Galleries of Ancient Art present, from 23 October 2019 to 2 February 2020, at the Galleria Corsini, the exhibition The enigma of the real . Portraits and still lifes from the Poletti Collection and the Barberini National Galleries Corsini, curated by Paola Nicita. The exhibition presents around thirty works that have never been exhibited in Rome from the collection of Geo Poletti, a historian of art, connoisseur, painter and collector, compared to some paintings in the museum and a work from the National Museum in Warsaw. An exhibition strongly desired by the director Flaminia Gennari Santori who underlines: "as for the Mapplethorpe exhibition, also on this occasion we continue to the Galleria Corsini with the exploration of collecting, both as a practice and as a cultural category". In conclusion of the exhibition will be dedicated a study day at Palazzo Corsini to learn more about the paintings on show, to which scholars and sector specialists, national and international, will be invited. For the occasion, a booklet / guide with a text by Paola Nicita will be published. There are also a series of educational activities (guided tours and conferences) aimed at the various publics of the exhibition.
